Our university has been maintaining friendly ties with the universities in Poland for a long time. Business partners provide tangible results. Polish Cultural Centre has been operating in USPU. The cooperation has such areas as "Youth Exchange", "Program of Student Academic Mobility", "Summer Schools", "Double Diploma Program." The targeted educational projects are especially important area of international cooperation between Polish partner universities and USPU. Our teachers have their internship program at Polish universities; students learn and entertain themselves in Poland.

The representatives of Polish universities are frequent guests of the University. Our Polish colleagues have also participated in the celebration of the start of the academic year. We were meeting the special guests Alexander Mykolaychak, Doctor Habilitated, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs of the State Higher School of Vocational Education named after Jan Amos Comenius in Leszno, Bogdan Valchak, Honored Professor of Pavlo Tychyna USPU, Prof. Dr. Habilitation of the University of Adam Mickiewicz.

The problems associated with the expansion of cooperation were discussed with the honorable guests during the meeting of USPU Rector, Professor Natalia Pobirchenko on September the 1st. The meeting was held with the participation of Igor Kryvosheya, the Scientific Director of the Polish Cultural and Educational Center of USPU, the head of the world history and law, Ph.D., Professor and Kateryna Kuzan, the Head of the Polish Cultural and Educational Center. Professors Bogdan Valchak and Alexander Mykolaychak noted that its task of increasing the quality of education and promoting USPU is successfully implemented in life and it is realized in Poland. The issues of improving the joint educational programs and business prospects of economic relations have been raised.

Distinguished guests from Poland were also invited to participate in a round table on the topic: "Ukraine and Poland in a free Europe: a retrospective, present and prospects", held in conjunction with the History Department of the Polish Cultural and Educational Center. Ihor Kryvosheya was the moderator of the meeting.

The theme of the meeting was very important because Ukraine today makes a certain step towards cooperation with the European nations. In his report, Professor Bogdan Valchak was focused on the similarity of Polish and Ukrainian language, common history and so-called "lost opportunity" – the Hadiach union which was never implemented but remained mentioned in the documents.

Professor Alexander Mykolaychak mentioned that the present-day Ukraine is experiencing a difficult struggle for the European future. He emphasized that the future of our country depends on the young people who think in a European way, and are committed to the European values. In spite of the tragic common history, Poland is always ready to lend a helping hand to Ukraine, to support our country in difficult times. Professor stressed that Ukraine will want to use this opportunity to join the European family. But Ukraine has to pay a high enough price for that.

We hope that soon our country will prosper in peace and we’ll build our future in the European Union.
