On August, 3 the guest of honor Doctor of Sciences (Economics), People's Deputy of Ukraine Anton Yatsenko visited the university.

During his working visit to Uman he had the meeting with university administration and staff, examined the teaching and methodical base of the university, the research institutes, centers and laboratories.

Rector of the university prof. Nataliya Pobirchenko spoke about the university achievements and prospects. The Deputy was also interested in the preparations for the new academic year: "I am impressed by the laboratories and lecture rooms that are ready and waiting for students. I am confident that knowledge and love to education you inoculate upon youth - is the key to European strong and stable country", - said the People's Deputy. However, he interested in university problems, and expressed readiness to assist in their resolution.

People's Deputy was invited to the freshmen's solemn Initiation into the university students, and he promised to visit this event.
