October 23 to 25, 2023, the first vice-rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Professor Andrii Hedzyk, took part in The Magna Charta Universitatum's conference "Universities and Re-Construction of Cities: the Role of Research and Education", which was held in Lodz, Poland. The conference program envisages consideration of important issues, in particular, the regional view of universities that serve society, the challenges and prospects of their development. The conference was also attended by Diana Stefanova-Slobodian, a student of the Faculty of Preschool and Special Education, who won the Magna Charta Observatory essay contest on the topic "How might students exercise more influence in enabling their universities to make a more effective contribution to society?" During the conference, the signing ceremony of the Great Charter of Universities - Magna Charta Universitatum MCU2020 was also held, which Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, as a member of the Magna Charta Observatory, signed in June 2021 in electronic form in a remote format.
