Championship of Ukraine in weight sports among students of HEI, which took place in sports complex of O. O. Bohomolets National Medical University (Kyiv), gathered at about 150 the best and the strongest weight-lifters from different regions of Ukraine. Traditionally, sportsmen competed with 2 weights of 24 kg each.

Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was represented by 2 students of Physical Training Department – Valentyn Khmilovyi and Oleg Legin. As a result of competitions Valentyn Khmilovyi took II place in the weighting category up to 75 kg, and Oleg Legin took V place in the weighting category up to 70 kg.
