Students of the Physical Education Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University successfully performed in the championship of Ukraine for rowing among youth under 23 years old and juniors born in 1997-1998, that was held in Dnipro.

Natalia Melnyk, Bogdan Shcherbak, Nazar Shcherbak, Oleksandr Haran, Yulia Yuriychuk, Vladyslav Mehes, Yaroslav Fryyuk, Vladyslav Karnaukh and Mykola Chaploutskyi were the members of the Cherkasy region team.

The results of the competition, which was attended by 24 teams from 22 regions of Ukraine, our students had won a complete set of awards: 3 golden, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals.

Yulia Yuriychuk won the golden medal in the tandem canoe lap at a distance of 500 meters, and was the silver medalist at the distance of 500 meters in individual kayaks and canoe-fours lap.

Vladyslav Mehes won the gold medal in the tandem canoe lap at a distance of 1,000 m and at a distance of 500 m, silver medal in canoe-fours lap at a distance of 1,000 m and a bronze medal in the canoe-fours lap at a distance of 500 m.

Oleksandr Haran won bronze medals in the canoe-fours lap at a distance of 1,000 m and tandem canoe at a distance of 500 m.

Nataliia Melnyk won a silver award at a distance of 500 meters in the canoe-fours lap.

Vladyslav Karnaukh won a bronze medal in the canoe-fours lap at a distance of 200 m.

Yaroslav Fryyuk won the bronze medal in the the canoe-fours lap at a distance of 500 m.

It is pleasant to note that according to the results of the championship the students of the Physical Education Department of USPU Vladyslav Mehes and Yulia Yuriychuk became the members of the national team in rowing and won the right to defend the honor of our country in international competitions - European Championships to be held on 14-17 July in Bulgaria and the World Cup which will be held on 28-31 July in Belarus.
