Recently, students of History Department visited a famous tale-teller, scenarist, actor, author of TV programmes, engineer, member of Kyiv band “Viy”, honorary title holder “Honoured culture worker of Ukraine”, Oleksandr Vlasyuk, more famous by name Sashko Lirnyk.

A taleteller was ivited by a lecturer of General History Chair Vladyslav Chabanyuk, who is a director of state history and culture preserve “Trypolian culture”.

The meeting was very interesting. It was lecture, discussion and master class at the same time. Oleksandr expressed his opinion on teacher’s role in modern society. By means of fairy tale telling Sashko Lirnyk conducted a master class in rhetoric. Students got valuable advice on puplic speech improvement and were convinced of intonation, voice, logical pauses and gestures great role. As a culmination of the meeting, the guest told fairy tales. Students-historians were fairy tale “About Marusia and the Cossack Mykola” acting characters.

Dean’s assistant in educational work Olga Skus thanked the guest for positive atmosphere and mood, a lot of usful advices; she wished such meetings at our university become a tradition.

Inquiry: Oleksandr Vlasyuk or Oleksandr Lirnyk was born on the 24th of January 1963 in Uman. For 15 years he has been living in Murmansk, Russia. He was a director of Russian enterprise in ship maintenance; in Russia he took part in Association of Ukrainian people forming.

In 1995 Oleksandr Vlasyuk came back to Ukraine. Nowadays he lives in Kyiv. Now he is a writer, author and TV presenter of TV programme “Lirnyk Sashko tales”. In 2000 children jury defined him as “the best child writer in Ukraine”. In 2003 a disk “Lirnyk Sashko tales for children and adults” was named the best album of Ukraine (according to the journal “Policy and Culture” poll).
