For the first time of boxing in Uman existence, Andriy Smirnov, a student of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University has become a bronze prize-winner among adults.

On the 6-11th October on the basis of Zaporizhia National University was held championship in boxing among men up to 22 years old. In the competition participated 200 sportsmen from different regions of Ukraine, among them – students of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University Yaroslav Petrychenko and Andriy Smirnov.

The competition lasted 5 days. Andriy Smirnov had several fights that he has won, and only in semifinal he gave way to future winner of the Championship, finalist of last-year championship of Europe among the youth denis Pesotskyi (Chernigiv).

As a result Andriy took III place in weight category 64 kg.
