Nature protection action “Zaremb river coastside ordering” was organized by scientific and research laboratory of USPU “Ecology and Education” and school №3. It was initiated by doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, head of Chemistry and Ecology Chair at Nature and Geography Department of USPU, Svitlana Sovgira and teachers of biology at school №3 Tetyana Staschenko and Mykhailo Plusch.

The action was conducted in the framework of all-Ukrainian annual action in planning and organization of public service “For clean environment. In the action participated at about 100 people – PhD students, lecturers, second-year students of Nature and Geography Department, pedagogical staff and team “Ekos” of secondary school №3 in Uman.

The aim of the action was to realize in practice nature protection activity, protection and state improvement of small rivers, ecological and law education of youth concerning protection of water resources, population’ involvement into particular work in nature protection.

During the action it the sources of Umanka river coastside in the area of Zaremb pond were revealed, cleared away and put in a good order, people planted the trees in order to reinforce its bank, cleaned riverside of Zaremb pond from rubbish, organized cleaning of neighbouring territories, conducted aggitation work among micro-region citizens, put to place a board with information on small rivers protection.
