The beginning of November for our university is marked by an important event – National Drama and Comedy Theatre has won the first prize at XIV All-Ukrainian amateur theatre and circus festival “Theatre Forum 2014” in nomination “Student Amateur Theatre Groups”. Our theatre-goers have won the first place among 30 groups from all over Ukraine!
The festival took place on the 1st and 2nd November in Vorzel, Kyiv region; an organizer was Culture and health centre “Citadel”.
It’s a pleasure to note that our theatre with a play “In Fashion” by M. Starytsky represented Cherkasy region. Among different genres the USPU theatre had chosen classic repertoire.
The honoured jury of the festival was headed by Raisa Stepanivna Nedashivska – national artist of Ukraine, deputy head of National Theatre Workers Union of Ukraine; she had won the highest cinematographic reward “Nika”, St. Varvara order, 2 Princess Olga orders of II and II levels.
A high level of requirements made our theatre-goers to show all their best. Members of national theatre demonstrated on the stage excellent acting; they created good atmosphere and mood, raised positive emotions. Among the theatre group members were students of Primary Education Department, Natural Sciences and Geography Department, Arts and Pedagogics Department, Physics and Mathemetics Department who showed the high level of artstic skills. The main parts performed:
- Larysa Saulyak – Pani Dzvonarska;
- Olena Markovska – Zinka;
- Oleksandr Shcherbak – Pan Varenyk;
- Vira Prytulyak – Natalka;
- Tetyana Bondarchuk – widow Dembytska;
- Oleg Sytnyk – Sisoy.
A well-known composition staging seemed not to amaze the demanding jury, but originality of stage-director vision and an excellent acting made a great impression.
Director of the theatre and stage-director of the play Nataliya Alekseeva and head of trade union commity, Assistant Professor Oleksandr Osadchiy were rewarded by diplomas for support and development of amateur arts and contribution in cultural development of Ukraine.
The members of National Drama and Comedy Theatre expressed their gratitude to head of trade union commity Oleksandr Osadchiy and dean of Primary Education Department Borys Yakymchuk for their financial support.
