Patriotism is always in need for people, state and under current conditions for Ukraine it is of vital necessity. Patriotic education of young generation includes different methods and means of influence. But the most important is everyone’s attraction to sufficient activities for the Motherland. Hence, at Social and Psychological Education Department worked innovation project National and Patriotic Camp of Student Youth “Action”.
Camp “Action” started its work on the 24th of September, 2014. It was not coincidence that the date was chosen on the 24th, as it is a special date for our country; it is on the 24th of August our country became independent.
On the 24th of September the camp and Student Scientific Society organized intellectual and entertaining talk show “I love Ukraine”. The performance was organized in the form of competition between two teams – “The blues” headed by Mykola Grygoriev and “The yellows” headed by Veronica Smitanka. The talk show was observed by a jury which consisted of Professor Dmytro Pashchenko, doctor of pedagogical sciences, Assistant Professor Galyna Bondarenko, PhD in psychological sciences and Assistant Professor Iryna Vahotska. The game was over with 42 points of “The Blues” and 40 points of “The Yellows”.
The same day 43 group students organized an event “Love Ukraine – put on blue-and-yellow ribbon”. Everybody received blue-and-yellow ribbon as a symbol of our state.
On the 24th of September 35 and 26 groups and members of Psychological and Peagogical Child Rehabilitation Centre in Uman organized an event, the aim of which was presents producing for orphan asylum under slogan “We are children of Ukraine, we are for peace”.
On the 29th of September group 10 students of Social and Psychological Education Department organized charitable action “Pastry with wishes” for all the students, teachers and guests of the university. In the new building hall the pastry with original wishes of happiness, peace and love inside was delivered. Members of charitable action were surprized, but glad and satisfied. Collected funds from “Action” camp were passed to people who suffered in ATO zone.
The same day students of the university had a possibility to travel around Ukrainian cities. During the breaks students organized national and patriotic action “I am Ukrainian and I am proud of this”. Students marked on the map of Ukraine places they would like to visit. Many students were glad to participate in the action.
On the 30th of September, group 16 students of Social and Psychological Education Department dressed in national clothes conducted a photo session “Ukraine is above all”. Everybady had a possibility to take a photo for fees. Collected funds were passed for needs and support of soldiers in ATO zone.
On the 1st of October, group 15 students of Social and Psychological Education Department organized the action “Ukraine is united”. Students presented ribbons and balloons with Ukrainian national symbols which meant unity and indivisibility of our state.
The next day, group 45 students of Social and Psychological Education Department organized a charity fair. The guests were treated with home-made pastry, sweets and drinks. Students offered meals for fees. Collected funds were passed for medicine to soldiers in ATO zone.
On the 6th of October Student Council of the department organized a deductive game “Mafia”. Under the guidance of the student dean Maxim Rebro 11 players had a chance to reveal their re-embodiment abilities and deductive skills.
On the 7th of October students of 37, 38 and 39 groups organized an action “Support a soldier by getting bracelet”. The aim of the event was patriotism, honour and love to Ukraine development. Students presented ribbons and shared their good mood. It was a pleasure to notice students’ happy faces and their eyes sparkling with hope for peaceful future.
On the 8th of October Social and Psychological Education Department received a guest, historian and teacher of Uman general education school № 3 Oksana Gnatyshyna. She delivered a lecture dedicated to 25th anniversary of National movement. It was very interesting to listen to little known facts on history of Ukraine. Students were listening to the lecturer with a great interest. The lecturer was followed by a pupil of Uman general education school № 3 Mykhailo Mishchuk who presented the audience his poetry. Deep grief was caused by a story about this school graduating student Oleg Orlov who died fighting for peace and independence of Ukraine in ATO zone.
On the 9th of October in the framework of National and patriotic camp “Action” Student Social and Psychological Service Centre presented new wonders. The volunteers had organized entertaining and cognitive quest “Cossacks’ amusement” in Bilogrudivsky wood for children from Psychological and Peagogical Child Rehabilitation Centre in Uman. The tasks were various – from jumping in sacks to labyrinth passing. Children showed agility, and logical thinking. They were laughing a lot and got bright impressions. The “amusement” visited a real Cossack, Mankivka Cossack dwelling hetman Slavomyr Glushchenko. He told interesting facts about Cossacks history, mystic blessing of four elements (earth, water, wind and fire), blessed our small guests in Cossacks, and taught to fight with sabres. Such vivid interaction with children is both the best practice for our students and a possibility to realize theirselves in the process of best human qualities upbringing.
On the 14th of October (Cossacks’ Day) students of the department visited Mankivka Cossack dwelling. Students felt Cossack’s spirit; they tried real Cossack porridge and stewed fruit, participated in Cossack’s games. Everybody had good impressions and mood of a Cossack.
On the 16th of October was held a meeting of students, teachers and soldiers in ATO zone (Uman platoon, 2nd batallion of National Guards of Ukraine). There were only six soldiers who represent Uman region in the turbulent East, six soldiers from thousands who defend Ukrainian freedom and independence in the ATO zone.
On the 17th of October students of 26 and 42 groups from Social and Psychological Education Department began stationery collecting for children from ATO zone. Students helped to provide small migrants with everything necessary for studying at school.
On the 21st of October took place the action “Flag of wishes”. The organizers were students of 22P and 25S groups. The words of gratitude were written on the flag. The flag was handed to soldiers of Ukrainian army.
In the framework of National and patriotic camp “Action” students of SPED (groups 11, 15, 44) shot a video for soldiers in the forefront. They expressed their gratitude, wishes and supporting words.
On the 23rd of October National and Patriotic camp “Action” finished its work. The final part of the work was a charity concert “In our memories forever”. The collected funds would be sent to support soldiers. In the concert participated students of Social and Psychological Education Department and pupils of Uman general education school № 3. In the hall dominated tense atmosphere, the developed theme would be always painful. The guest of the event pro-rector in scientific and pedagogical work Tetyana Kochubey also felt this atmosphere. The concert was dedicated to OUR HEROES, OUR DEFENDERS!
