Natalia Mamchur , lecturer in Ukrainian culture and literature of the Ukrainian Philology Department at USPU successfully presented the traditional embroidery and folk “motanka” doll at the Cultural Week in Turkmenistan. The master has received an official letter from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan with words of gratitude for the exhibition of Ukraine and an invitation to further cooperation.



On the 24-30th of June the Cultural Week festival was intitiated by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan at the "Avaza" National tourist zone. The aim of the festival was to demonstrate the high achievements of the Turkmen people in the field of culture and art. The leading objectives of this project were to activate a multicultural dialogue, establish a number of creative contracts and exchange the experience in order to implement new ideas and creative projects. The Program of the festival included a variety of cultural activities. For seven days the bright pop artists amazed the audience with their performances on the coast of the Caspian Sea in the park with interactive fountains. The international stars of children's and student dance and folk ensembles were also present at the event and much more was unfolding... The festival lured everyone with films, poetry evenings, symphony concerts, opera performances. "Herohly” folk opera was a great success.



The delegations from different countries participated in the parade of architectural show at the seaside resort area. Over a dozen of tourist infrastructure facilities, like five-star hotels, cottage complexes, as well as the country's first yacht club were built on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan. The honored guests were welcomed by the theatrical performances of Turkmen national epic. A vivid memory of the cultural project was the International Exhibition of Art held in “Nebitchi" hotel which was presented by 17 countries, including South Korea, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, France, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia , Iran and others. Each pavilion was a kind of cultural center of the original folk customs. Here one could see the great examples of graphic art, mosaics, miniatures, original sculptures that impressed with their elegance, also the jewelry and unique rugs, dolls and jewelry boxes, various embroidery, traditional clothing, souvenirs and so on. Overall the Avaza art exhibition became a sort of island of friendly and sincere communication in the ocean of world culture.


On the last day of this great cultural event the closing ceremony of the Cultural Week with the presentation of certificates to the participants of the International Exhibition of Arts and grand festive concert with the best creative teams of the country and popular foreign artists took place on the banks of the artificial river Avaz. The evening ended with festive fireworks. The Cultural Week in Turkmenistan left the best impressions of the national talents and generous hospitality in the hearts of all the guests.
