The students and teachers of Arts and Pedagogics Department together with "Kobzar" Ukrainian folk choir and their artistic director Vasyl Semenchuk, the Honored Worker of Ukraine, Associate Professor of music performed "The wide Dnieper roars and moans" (Ukrainian folk song of literary origin) in front of the main building Pavlo Tychyna USPU. This flash mob was devoted to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko and the 153th anniversary of the reburial of the Great Kobzar in his homeland.


The students and teachers honored the memory of Taras Shevchenko and proved that community is powerful. The team of USPU is true patriots of their motherland.

All fans of Ukrainian folk songs had the opportunity to enjoy the treasure of Ukrainian choir singing in the same day, in the assembly hall of the new building of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. "Kobzar" Ukrainian Folk Choir devoted the creative program to our national genius Taras Shevchenko.

The concert program included deep and meaningful songs. The choristers disclosed a variety of images of Ukraine through the prism of the patriotic spirit in a skilled and insightful performance of Ukrainian classics songs. Among them, "My Thoughts" (lyrics by Taras Shevchenko, music by Yevgen Kozak, edited by Anatoliy Avdeyevkiy), "Learn well, my brothers" (lyrics by Taras Shevchenko, music by Anatoliy Kos-Anatolskiy), "Oh, who loves Mykolay ... " Ukrainian folk psalm song by Anatoliy Kupchyk, "Cossacks never die" (lyrics by Myroslav Von'ol, music by Mykola Balema), "The willow plank" Ukrainian folk song by Anatoliy Avdeyevkiy, Ukrainian folk songs "The guys returning from the Fair", "Oh I go to the valley", "Oh, Hryts come here", "The cuckoo is heard in the barn round the corner", "Music plays outside", "The Ivana Kupala holiday", "Above the forest", "The wide Dnieper roars and moans" (lyrics by Taras Shevchenko, music by Danylo Kryzhanivskyi, edited by Anatoliy Pashkevych), the "Steppe" song (lyrics by Mykola Negoda, music by Anatoliy Pashkevych). Excellent vocal abilities were demonstrated by the choir soloists Tetiana Khlivna and Anastasia Shynkaruk.



Dmytro Baldyniuk, the Vice-Chancellor for Humanitarian Affairs, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor came to congratulate the members of the "Kobzar" choir on the occasion of their brilliant performance. The honorary guest of the concert was Anatoliy Kupchyk, the former director of the choir. The former students thanked him for the knowledge and skills he had endowed them with.



The audience awarded the choir with sincere applause and thanked the choir members for a wonderful performance. They wished them inspiration and inexhaustible energy to continue the greatness and beauty of Ukrainian music!
