The "Watercolor" ensemble of folk instruments won twice in May at the international and nationwide competitions.

The “Perpetuum Mobile” VI International Contest took place in the city of Drohobych. The contest was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University in Drohobych, Drohobych State Musical College named after V. Barvinsky, and National Ukrainian Music Union.

Our University was represented at the contest by "Watercolors" ensemble of folk instruments directed by Vira Kalabska, the Diploma winner of International Contest and laureate of the nationwide Contest, senior lecturer in music. During the intense competitive struggle with musical groups from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Poland, the group was recognized as one of the best and awarded the III Degree Diploma (category VI-B).



In the middle of May there was the” Cup Nadrossya” Contest-Festival of Accordionists in the town of Rokitne. It was the first time that the "Watercolors" folk instrumental ensemble took part in this festival and was awarded the Diploma and the Cup for the second place in the category of "Accordion and mixed ensemble of folk instruments”, the category of students and teachers of higher educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels.



The ensemble expresses gratitude to the administration, the trade union committee of the University and the Dean of Arts and Pedagogics Department for their support and assistance.
