The Physics and Mathematics Department (headed by Oleg Avramenko, the Dean, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences) at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University researched the topic of "Modern technical equipment in the school experiments in physics". The study of the topic was organized by the Chair of Physics and Astronomy and Methods of Teaching of Physics and Astronomy (Head of the Chair being Mykhailo Martyniuk, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor) in the Small Academy of Sciences which operates the University (Physics Section, headed by Sergiy Tereshchuk, an Associate Professor).

Igor Chernetskyi, the Head of Department of creating educational content of the national center of knowledge at Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Head of the Ukrainian Association of Physics of Ukraine delivered two relevant scientific lectures for students of the Department of Physics and Mathematics and the school teachers of physics.

During the lectures he has demonstrated interesting physical experiments that are currently used in the lessons of physics in the schools of the USA and most of European countries. Those are the experiments with the usage of modern equipment based on innovative technologies (digital spectroscope, thermal imager, digital physics laboratory etc.). In particular, those were the experiments on materials with unusual properties ("memory metals"), experiments conducted in the online labs, experiments with usage of nanotechnology. These experiments are related to various branches of physics - mechanics, optics, structure of substances and others.

The audience (students and teachers) had the opportunity to make an insight into the latest technology of teaching physics and test their knowledge and level of creative thinking. Our students have demonstrated the ability to think creatively, find the right solutions to unusual situations in physics!
