On the 23rd of April near the monument to Chornobyl victims was held a mass meeting on occasion of 29th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster. In the event participated USPU students and lecturers, city administration, members of community organization “Chornobyl Union of Ukraine”, volunteer and public organizations representatives, workers of city institutions and enterprises.

Acting mayor of the city Oleksandr Tsebriy reported on the work of the city administration, directed towards Chornobyl citizens’ social protection and gave the participants in liquidation of the Chornobyl disaster funds and moral rewards.

The university representatives and the meeting participators lay down wreaths and flowers to the pedestal of the monument “Chornobyl 1986”, they honoured Chornobyl victims by a minute of silence and took part in civil funeral.
