With the hope and believe Christians ae waiting for a big holiday of Easter. Some days before this event Uman State Pedagogical University students and lecturers joined to an old tradition - painting of pysanky.

Master class in pysanky painting by a famous national master from Mankivka Svitlana Bas is traditionally held at the university, but this time the meeting was special, even mysterious. Svitlana Mykolaivna knows a lot about pysanky, about its history, colours, ornaments, significance of decoded symbols, regional peculiarities, and the other interesting facts. This information she shared among the lesson’s participants – lecturers of Ukrainian Literature, Ukrainian Folklore and their Methods of Teaching Chair, students and pupils of schools. During the lesson, they could paint pysankas, using traditional ornaments. The master told a secret on painting of pysankas, “only pure consciousness of a person is able to feel and create, as pysanka is painted not by hand, but by soul”.

After the master class everyone got his creation – pysanka. The event’s participators were convinced of the spiritual rise importance together with mastering of an old technique. How to make Easter’s souvenir studied members of Uman education and rehabilitation centre, where took place a master classin the framework of charitable action “Happy childhood – mutual care” organized by assistant professor of Preschool Education Theory and Methodology Chair at Preschool Education Department Inna Babiy. The creative cooperation joined teachers of education and rehabilitation centre by making up pysanky for their students. As a result of their hard work they got wonderful pysanky, the national art’s examples, teacher will pesent them to the students on Easter.

During the master class were expressed wishes of goodness, love, health and domestic cosiness, there was the atmosphere of spring among the participators, they were smiling.

Rebirth of pysanky arts tradition the day before Easter became an important symbol of life renewal, which is embodied by this nice day.
