At Foreign Languages Department was held a cultural event “German Autumn”. This title was chosen because of celebration of Unity of Germany Day on the third of October, when in Munich takes place “Oktoberfest”, and European Languages Day, celebrated on 26th of September.

German plays an important part among world and EU languages. This fact and some other are favourable to chose German as a second foreign language.

Natalia Stavchuk, a scholarship holder of DAAD told about her experience of improvement of German at linguistic courses in Berlin this August. There was a quiz after to motivate students to study German.

German is a language of poets, lyrics and romantics. The audience listened to a poem by R.-M. Rilke “Herbsttag” in original and Ukrainian translation.

After this Svitlana Sikorska sang a song “Für immer”, 4th year students amazed by their performanes “Wunder” and “Guten Morgen, Sonnenschein, made an impression of patriotic energy of Germans in number “Das alles ist Deutschland”.

Among famous dates is International Peace Day, which is celebrated from September, 2002. That’s why the event was ended by a song, performed by Svitlana Sikorska “I want to live without war”. It was like a call to believe in Victory, love and peace.
