At USPU was held Geography Tournament-2016. It was an interesting competition between the experts in science about the Earth, nature, people, and their activity which became already traditional. This year, except the students of Nature and Geography and History Departments at Pavlo Tychyna USPU, in the event participated a team from Mykhailo Kotsubynskiy Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University. In general, there were 9 teams.

Inspirers of the tournament were: dean of Nature and Geography Department, candidate of biological sciences, assistant professor Ruslan Yakymchuk, candidate of geography sciences, assistant professor Iryna Kravtsova and Oleksandr Lavryk, and also Yuriy Slobodianiuk.

The jury were: doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Oksana Braslavska, doctor of geology sciences, professor Serhiy Polovka, candidate of geography sciences, assistant professor Oleksiy Sytnyk; they assessed the teams’ performances, taking into account reaction of fans.

A very nice game showed a team from Turkmenistan “Karakum”, they were serious competitors for the other teams. Ukrainian and Turkmen students created a brilliant show. The audience liked especially a dance “The Sun”, performed by students from Turkmenistan.

In the battle have won the following teams: team “GeoInk” (Vinnytsia) – III place; team “Greenwich” (23 group) – II place; team “Avalanche” (mixed team of 3rd year students) – I place. All the teams received diplomas. The team from Turkmenistan “Karakum” has won the main prize from trade union committee (head Oleksandr Osadchiy) – trip to Butskiy canyon (it is also known as “Small Switzerland”) that has a status of complex nature monument of local importance.
