This time the meeting of Mykola Bazhan University Literary Union was unique: for the first time creative students of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University joined creative students of Uman National University of Horticulture (UNHU lecturer a former USPU student Yulia Zaplyvana has recently published her first collection of poetry), invited by head of the literary union (this year the union celebrates its 20th anniversary!) Maryna Pavlenko.

It is known that in 1920th Uman National University of Horticulture was famous by its graduating students, talented in literature. Among them were famous writers Yuriy Lavrinenko, Petro Lanovenko, representatives of “Plough” and the other.

Therefore, young poets of USPU decided to check the contemporary situation in the neighboring HEI.

We should pay tribute to guests: it’s not easy to read their poetry in front of linguists, who know all the fine points of language and like to be critical!... But the students and PhD students from National University of Horticulture, in particular Victoria Sygydyuk, Igor Didenko and Nadia Matviychuk, dared!

Nevertheless, critics of our students was rather benevolent than “destructive”. The topic of the meeting was “Honey and Salt”, that’s why there was enough “honey”. Everybody was in a good mood: we don’t admit such interesting guests every day.

It was funny and interesting. It was agreed to make this meeting traditional and for the next time to invite more people. In the end the guests expressed their gratitude and interest in the literary union’s activity: both by communication style during meeting and poetry by our writers.

We want to believe that at this event have been future famous writers, both philologists and agrarians.
