Today is celebrated All-Ukrainian Football Day in Ukraine. Football is a national game, one of the most popular games in the world and a leader among the other kinds of sports by its fans.

At our university the centre of football is Physical Education Department. Its students form the combined team of the university, which always win in city sports and athletics meetings and takes part in regional competitions. At different years our boys were best at sports and athletic meetings among students of Cherkassy region, and got a right to represent the region at the next stage of tournaments.

As usual, football is popular not only among students of Physical Education Department. The competitions among departments’ combined teams and sports and athletics meetings of first-year students are held annually. Each student has a chance both to get positive emotions from a game and as a result of victory to be at the main combined team of the university.

Our university is proud of our stars-graduating students: Master of Sports Oleksandr Kazanyuk, who has been playing for a football team “Alexandria” (the first and premier league of Ukraine), Anton Shevchuk – a player of youth combined team of Ukraine.
