On the 18th-19th of November took place International Student Tournament in History, organized by Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. USPU students from History Department traditionally took part in the competition. As a result of two previous tournaments (2012, 2013) students of our university took third place, giving way to leading and authoritative universities of Ukraine. Last year our students were very close to participate in the second tour (final). This year our team, consisting of Oleksandra Kvasnevska, Vitaliy Kolesnik, Olga Perepelyuk and Daria Riabokon, did their best and were among three best teams of Ukrainian universities.

It testifies to the fact that Uman students have advantages and show better results than students from Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Chernigiv. They play on a level with teams who are in final the second time. There was an interesting, dramatic and fierce fighting in the final game; students from our university gave only Ternopil team a way. We should say that students were prepared by all teachers from History Department, and the main couch among them was a head of General History Chair, Professor Igor Kryvosheya.

The second place but with lower score shared with our students Kyiv Mogylyanska Academy team. A head of the orginizing committee, rector of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Victor Ognevyuk named our team “tournament invention”. According to the unofficial jury inquiry our student Oleksandra Kvasnevska was the best.

We congratulate our winners, all the lecturers of History Department and our university on the meaningful victory!
