Exhibition of goods made by students of Nature and Geography Department from waste products was dedicated to All-Ukrainian Environment Day.
The event was organized by workers of scientific and research laboratory “Ecology and Education” assistant professor Hanna Honcharenko, professor Svitlana Sovhira, lecturer Natalia Dushechkina.
The works were presented by students of 2-4th year at Nature and Geography Department. They demonstrated that waste products can have second life. The exhibition was aimed at showing social and economic advantages of ecologic recycling technologies, which is an important part of ecology upbringing.
Students amazed by their creative thinking and ideas. They presented goods, made from waste products – dishes usable only once, nutshells from pistachio, cardboard boxes, old discs and newspapers, empty plastic bottles and bottles of yoghurt, pencils, package of juice and milk, etc. As far as the used material was unordinary, the goods came out extraordinary too.
Students made a lot of different things with the help of plastic spoons, forks, plates. For example, plastic forks and pieces of cloth were transformed into fans, spoons – into bunches of flowers. From plastic bottles and packages of juice and milk were made beautiful vases, boxes, etc.
The exhibition visited representatives of the university administration, headed by rector, professor Oleksandr Besludniy. He supported the initiative of the university ecologists, saying that we can’t solve alone ecology problems alone, but we can contribute in the fight against these problems. Oleksandr Ivanovych accentuated on importance of improvement the state of ecology in our city and region; he appealed to be responsible for the environment’s fate!
Before throwing away the garbage one should think about possibilities to give second life to waste products, decorating your house and joining the useful affair.
Thus, by conducting the exhibition its organizers and the student youth drew attention to ecology and its problems. Our common responsibility is to clean the environment and save the planet for future generations.
