Spreading knowledge about such disease as AIDS, its prophylaxy – is the main aim of all the events, that are held on the 1st of December, on the World Day of Fighting against AIDS. USPU also joined such actions. Students and lecturers supported and joined the world community – “Don’t give a chance to AIDS!”

At Social and Psychological Education Department students of first-forth years of study participated in actions, dedicated to the World Day of Fighting against AIDS. Students of group 26 appealed to their friends, all the boys and girls: “Save your life, young generation!” In the hall of the new building of the university students distributed red balloons with inscription and post cards.

A lecture on prevention of AIDS among the youth was given to students of Social and Psychological Education Department. The students visited social workers from charity fund “Volia (eng. Freedom)” – Yevgen and Igor, whose experience and example was impressive. The young men told about existing danger of AIDS infection, shared their experience telling different stories from life, which impressed students. After the lecture all the present had an opportunity to put questions, which disturbed them.

The participants of the event were interested in statistics in Uman: according to official data in Uman 22 people are inflected by AIDS (mainly, they are girls aged 23-25). It must frighten! The guests told about ways of AIDS inflection, history of this disease. Students got to know about a lot of interesting and useful information.

Students of Economics and Business Education Department joined actions of World Day of Fighting against AIDS. In particular, the youth told their friends about this disease, preventive measures against it and protection. Students stressed that there are no effective medicine from AIDS, that’s why the main direction to prevent human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) should be educational and sanitary work among pupils and students youth directed towards fighting agains AIDS.

“To know so that to live!” – this was a slogan of events, dedicated to the World Day of Fighting against AIDS at Primary Education Department. The students, headed by deputy head of student dean Nataliya Kavaler, handed in red stripes, that symbolized solidarity with HIV-positive and inflected by AIDS.

We hope that after such actions the amount of inflected by the disease will decrease. Be attentive and take care of your health!

According to UNO data, AIDS epidemic slow down. During the last 5 years the amount of AIDS inflected shortened to 20 %. In Ukraine the level of inflected is the highest among adults and comprises 1, 1 %. Everyday in Ukraine 48 people are registered as HIV-positive.

According to “Ukrainian Centre of Social Dangerous Diseases Assessment at Ministry of Health Protection of Ukraine” from 01.10.2015 in Ukraine are registered 275754 HIV-positive people, 81577 are inflected by AIDS and 37543 died from the disease.

In Cherkassy region according official data from 01.10.2015 there are 6412 HIV-positive, among them 1152 children; 2271 are inflected by AIDS, among them 42 children; died from the disease – 942 persons.

To take preventive measures against HIV/AIDS among youth is one of the most important priorities. The state can influence epidemic spread by injection drugs avoiding, prevention risky sexual behavior, and healthy way of life.
