Delegation of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University headed by Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector, took part in the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of Uman Raion held in the village of Palanca on the 21st of August.
The glorious history of the Raion knows the years of development, the ups, the ordeals of war, the post-war reconstruction, and then a stable progress and formation of the independent Ukraine. And we are proud to realize that today it is one of the most powerful social, economic and cultural areas of Cherkasy region.
The University is happy with the fact that over 90 percent of teachers in Uman are our graduates.
The program of celebration was varied and interesting: the opening ceremony of the Taras Shevchenko Monument, the flower arrangements dedicated to the Independence Day, the exhibition of agricultural machinery. Each village of the Raion laid the "Tables of Welfare" and the professional artists of the Honored Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine together with Anatoliy Matviychuk, the famous poet and composer, People's Artist of Ukraine, gave a wonderful concert.
Our University also contributed to maintaining a festive mood by presenting the exhibition of works by the masters of arts and crafts.
The University staff wishes all the residents of Uman good health, well-being and harmony, family warmth and happy longevity, the courage of Cossacks and enthusiasm for all projects.
