Decorative study of flora is an interesting kind of arts. We can say that it is unique, because there is no person who fails to do this creative work. So it is. To choose a bunch of flowers for a present, to put them into the vase has happened to each person, and this activity also relates to decorative study of flora.

Studying foreign experience, we should remember, that decorative floristics has ancient roots in Ukraine too. Our ancestors had skills to make different flora compositions, and this kind of arts has come to our times and now it has its renascence. Let’s remember, for example, various makoviychyky – bunches to the national holiday Makoviya. There were also interesting compositions to Christmas holidays and New Years Day! The exhibition was created by Primary Education and Social Pedagogy students.

The holiday of flowers is very popular in Ukraine nowadays; large colourful carpets and various compositions are made by the language of nature. We should remember that by flowers’ language it is possible to reproduce hints of people’s mood. That’s why American association of florists has chosen the words “Say it by flowers!” as their motto.

The second and forth year students of Preschool Education, Arts and Pedagogics Education, Primary Education and Social Pedagogy Education Departments have a course in floristics, which is taught by lecturers of Theory of Primary Education Chair Pavlo Dyachuk and Lyudmyla Perfilyeva. On the basis of the Department has been created a circle “Floristics”, which is attended by lecturers of HEI and teachers of Uman schools. Exhibitions of natural materials compositions are organized to each holiday.
