To further the development of amateur art, traditions of folk culture, and support the talented people among the trade union members on April 20 in Cherkasy there was the final concert of the winners of the V All-Ukrainian festival of folk culture - the amateur groups of the cultural and educational institutions of trade unions of the Oblast. A few creative teams of the University were taking part in the festival. Those were the "Visavi" national amateur ensemble dance (director - Ludmila Androschuk, the Assoc. Professor), "Yavoryna" national amateur folk dance ensemble (director - Sergey Kutsenko) and "Sofia" national amateur ensemble (director - Vasyl’ Semenchuk, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, PhD.).

At the opening ceremony of the festival Petro Shevchenko, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Cherkasy Oblast expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the groups for significant achievements in the development of amateur art, high level of performance, revitalizing and enhancement of the national and cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people on the occasion of the confirmation of the honorary title "People's amateur team of the trade unions of Ukraine "of nine creative teams of our University.

The festival has proved that the educators of Cherkasy are gifted, creative, spiritually rich, and authentic folk artists. Members and leaders of creative teams were highly estimated by the Trade Union Federation of Cherkasy Oblast, and once again proved that the choreographic and musical art in Uman and in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University is prospering and enhances the sense of beauty in everyone's heart.
