The last week in the university was marked by a lot of events dedicated to Ukrainian Cossack’s Day. The spirit of liberty and freedom lives and will always live in hearts of Ukrainians. Cossack’s traditions are honoured by the youth.

At History Department was held Cossack’s fame week. The event began with 365 anniversary of Ukrainian Cossack’s State celebrabrating. The future historians participated in festive events, organized by administration of city of Chyhyryn in Cherkasy region the first capital of Ukrainian State, hetman Bogdan Khmelnytsky residence; visited many historical places connected with Cossacks. Hence, students had a possibility to touch to our nation heroic past, feel Cossacks epoch spirit and proud for our ancestors.

Cossack’s fame week was prolonged by Ukrainian National Cuisine Fair. The event oganizers treated students and teachers to delicious dishes. The meals was variable: salo and jellied meat, borsch with pampushky, holodets, varenyky, pancakes with cheese and sour cream, potatoes, roasted apples, compote, etc.

Football match “The way Cossacks played football” was the culmination of the week. History Department students and teachers dedicated the football match to Ukrainian Cossack’s Day.

There was also a very interesting creative performance “Arts Edge”, which took place on October, 19. This event united creative and talanted people appreciate arts. Everybody had a chance to take part in rhyming competition and admire performances of Artur Korniyuk (Zhytomyr), Igor Yarmolyuk (Uman), Some People (Uman), photo exhibition. The guest of the event was Laureat of the International Competition “Pegas horseshoe – 2014” (1st place), “Avant-garde – 2014” (1st place), winner of poetic battles and competition “Interreality-2014”.

The most intriguing part of the event was “Poetic Battles”, in which participated 14 young poets. The winner of the battles had become Bogdan Groza, student of USPU Foreign Languages Department.

Cossack fame week left good and elevated atmoshere, helped to join our nation historic past cognition.
