On the 3rd of October Uman celebrated its City Day. This year traditionally on the first Saturday of October were prepared various interesting events for Uman dwellers and guests of the city. Great part of actions was dedicated to annual actions. The main accents were put on amusement for children, sport events and traditional exhibition.
The motto of the day was “The Youth Unites Ukraine”. In the morning there was a mess in churches of Uman for well-being and prosperity of Uman citizens.
In nowadays conditions it is difficult to carry out professional duties. In spite of this, you perform your duties perfectly, and you will be always light in different-sided life of youth, presenting them warmth and knowledge treasure.
The participators marching across the main administrative building where representatives from administration and Honoured People of Uman were sitting on the chairs, was new this year. The main street of Uman crossed workers of educational establishments, youth organizations and even the smallest children in baby carriages.
Our university opened the marching of HEI. This year the flag was carried by doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, head of Technological Education Chair Andriy Tereshchuk, and his assistants – students Lyubov and Lyudmyla Prohorova. The column was headed by rector, doctor of pedagogical sciences Oleksandr Beslyudnyi.
Design of each university’s department was different, but they were united by slogans about our Alma Mater, the most creative department, which they represented.
In the end of marching one could visit “The City of Amusement”, which consisted of 12 streets under the titles: Fairytale, Patriotic, Historical, Beauty, Health, Artists, etc.
During the day worked “Master’s borough”. Our university masters organized master classes in embroidery, carving, quailing, paper plastic.
In the official opening of the holiday participated Uman guests – head of Cherkassy region administration Yuriy Tkachenko, national representatives Yuliy Mamchur, Maksym Poliakov, Lyudmyla Suprun, honoured dweller of Uman Valentyna Artyukh, mayors of Uman twin cities – Gniezno, Radvilishkis, Haapsalu. Insignia “Honoured citizen of Uman” were handed to families of perished in ATO.
Dancing marathon “With Ukraine in the heart” prepared choreography groups “Vizavi” and “Yavoryna”. They also participated in general flash mob.
Singing admirers had a chance to estimate performances of vocal trio “Gonta” and a head of Student Council of the university, student at Physical Education Department Yevgenia Boroday.
Charity action “Help a soldier” in which participated volunteer students, was taking place during the day.
There was a nice and friendly atmosphere during Uman City Day, a lot of positive emotions. The City Day is a tradition which became one of visiting cards of Uman.
