According to the order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1506 from 23.12.2014 “On All-Ukrainian student Olympiads conducting in 2014-2015 academic year” the History Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University conducted the second stage of All-Ukrainian student Olympiad in Politology for students of HEI, where politology is not a profile subject.
The competition was organized by Social Studies Chair (head – candidate of philosophy sciences, professor Anatoliy Karasevych). In the Olympiad participated 49 members, representatives from 29 HEI all over Ukraine.
The welcoming speech at plenary meeting was made by a candidate of historical sciences, assistant professor, pro-rector in scientific and pedagogical work of Pavlo Tychyna USPU, deputy head of organizing committee Vladylena Sokyrska; she wished students success in competition of the best experts in Politology.
The speech was also made by doctor of historical sciences, professor, History Department dean Tetyana Kuznets (USPU),
Doctor of political sciences, assistant professor, head of Sociology Chair at Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University Vitaliy Kryvoshein (head of the jury),
Candidate of philosophy sciences, professor head of Social Studies Chair at Pavlo Tychyna USPU Anatoliy Karasevych (deputy head of organization committee),
Head of Student Council of History Department Olga Perepelyuk (Pavlo Tychyna USPU),
Lecturer at Social Studies Chair of Pavlo Tychyna USPU Tetyana Rodyk (secretary of the competition).
There were 2 rounds of the competition: theoretical and research. During the first stage students were writing answers to the tasks of problematic and creative character in History and Theory of Political Science, the second stage consisted of tests.
In the framework of the research round, there was held the public defence of scientific works, which was accompanied by presentations and discussions.
During the II stage of All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Politology was held in April a round table “Polity of Ukraine: transformation peculiarities”. The chosen problem stimulated opinions exchange. As a result of the round table and raised problems the participators’ collection of works will be soon published.
The Olympiad’s members were offered a variable cultural program: excursion to dendrological park “Sofiivka”; a concert, prepared by creative university teams; watching a game of KVN at city palace of culture.
On the 24th of April was held rewarding of the Olympiad participators. As a result of the competition, the diploma of I grade received Maksym Demchenko (Hryhoriy Skovoroda Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi State Pedagogical University. II grade diplomas were handed in to 3 participators: Lyubov Cherevko (Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University), Iryna Madylyus (Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University), Hanna Lyubchak (Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State Pedagogical University). III grade diplomas got: Olga Zarishniak (Ternopil National Economics University), Oleksandr Bukach (National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”), Lesya Dzavaha (National University “Lviv Polytechnics”).
