On the 16th-17th of May Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University met participants of All-Ukrainian round table “Advocating campaigns in student self-government”. The round table was organized by Uman city council, student council and USPU administration together with Ukrainian student self-government association.

More than 20 student leaders from different educational establishments of Ukraine came to Uman to discuss urgent problems of student self-government. During the festive opening the welcoming speech made a head of educational work department, assistant professor Nataliya Revnyuk; she wished the participants good work and ipressions from the meeting.

Student self-government association director Mykyta Andreev underlined problems that should be discussed and thanked student council and USPU administration for the possibility to conduct a round table in one of the best HEI of Ukraine.

During 2 days student leaders worked in sections, hold a training “Self-perfection and self-development possibilities of extension”, discussed problems of advocate activity and self-government financial matters, the main principles of new Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”. The discussion was centered round new criteria of HEI assessment, typical position on self-government bodies, and participation of HEI students in forming National agency in education quality.

Except of discussions the organizers of the round table offered cultural program, in particular, an interesting excursion to Bilohrudivka wood and walk in dendrology park “Sofiivka”. Students had an opportunity to communicate, get acquainted and get seful experience for further work in self-governance.

Fruitful discussions and friendly atmosphere left good memories about the meeting in Uman.
