Dear residents of Uman and the guests!

On the 6th of July the Ivana Kupala holiday will be celebrated in Uman within the frames of “Uman as the cultural capital of Ukraine” art and cultural project.

The festival will start at 3 p.m. in the “Sofiyivsky” Park near “Flora” Pavillion and it will conclude with a fire show on the bank of the Ostashiv Pond. The festival program includes making flower wreaths, straw spinning, pottery, festive carnival and launching the wreaths on the water.


The festival will begin with the concert of the famous folk artists of Ukraine Anatoliy Matviychuck and Femiy Mustafaev, honored cultural workers of Ukraine Andriy and Vasyl Tomilenkos, a winner of International contests, a soloist of the Cherkasy Philarmony Vitaliy Duka, “The friend’s smile” ensamble (Volodymyr Troyan, brother Roman and Bogdan Polyanchuks, “Charm” ball dance group, creative groups of USPU (“Sofia” national folk group, “Classic+” instrumental trio, and “Visavi” folk amateur ensamble of modern danse.

The festive walk with Marena, the main symbol of the holiday from the Sofiyivsky to Ostashiv Pond is planned as well.

At the bank of the Ostashiv Pond the festival will begin at 6p.m. The program includes performances by the famous groups and “Ukraine has a talent” show as well as an exhibition of the production of the Uman businesses. The festival will conclude with a fire show and jumps over the fire.


Anton Yatsenko, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine and the “Sofiyivsky” National Park encourage all the Uman residents and guests to participate in celebrating this holiday.
