On March 28, 2014 the Institute of Education at NAPS of Ukraine held a scientific and methodological meeting of domestic linguodidactics. The Roundtable on important issues of language education, theory and practice of teaching Ukrainian was organized by the laboratory of Ukrainian language of Institute of Pedagogics at NAPS of Ukraine which proactively invites the leading scientists of Ukraine.

The meeting discussed the important issues of the modern theory and practice of teaching our native language - "Lessons of Ukrainian language in the system of education competency." During the roundtable the main focus was on the following important issues: the specifics of modern classes of Ukrainian language (nature and characteristics of the objectives of the competency training, motivation of training of educational activities of students, purpose of the lesson, organization of learning activities of students, reflection); the types, the structure, the performance criteria of modern language lessons.

The Coordinator of the Roundtable was Nina Golub, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of laboratory of Ukrainian Language at the Institute of Pedagogics at NAPS of Ukraine. Doctors and Candidates of Science, teachers, scientists of the laboratory of Ukrainian language were active participants of the discussion of the language education problems. Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was represented by Lidia Mamchur, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor and Irina Kucherenko, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
