Student Thomas Rozhie informed the guests about the academic and research work undertaken by the students during their studies at the Department studying the basics of geology and geochemistry as well as other sciences.

The varied collection of minerals and stones was created in order to study their diversity in Eurasia and determine the changes in the paleogeographic situation in Ukraine. The enthusiasts had been actively collecting the samples for the geological laboratory of the University since 1999. The newly founded museum is a subdivision of the geologic research laboratory. It contains about 200 samples of minerals and stones from different parts of Europe and Asia. In addition, the museum counts about 600 specimens of different reserve items. An electronic catalog of classic examples of minerals, rocks and remnants of the organic world of past geological epochs is created.

The museum will foster the preservation of the mineral collection foundations providing the teachers and University students and secondary schools pupils of the region with research materials and visual aids in the learning process.

Geology and Geography Museum of Eurasia will be an important scientific unit to hold all sorts of scientific meetings of students and scholars who will improve their knowledge, share their experience and raise the new issues that require research.
