Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University life was lighted by theatre arts star. In fact in 2000 Students’ Drama and Comedy Theatre was founded. The Doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, corresponding member of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences Natalya S. Pobirchenko - then director of Social and Arts Education Institute, but today - the University rector was the initiator of such a prominent event. Natalya D. Alekseeva is the Theatre President, who has a directorial talent and great organizational skills.

There have been a lot of outstanding events for 10 years. Creativity, craftsmanship, originality and falling in love with art of all theater members began to ensure that in 2004 the theater received the honorary title "People's amateur group”.

There are some classics Ukrainian literature works in performance’s repertory: "Kaidasheva simya", "Za dvoma zaitsyamy", "Kateryna", "Natalka Poltavka," “Nazar Stodolya”, "Nich pered Rizdvom”, "Naimychka", "Svatannya na Honcharivtsi” and others.

Each theater performance gives the viewers a bright impression and a good temper, as performed by the students familiar images come to life in a completely new and sometimes unexpected form. Intrigue adds that all actors - are different faculties students, who are studying well in everyday life, recapitulate lectures, answer on seminars but they are transformed and become unrecognizable on stage. Among university graduates, who received an unforgettable theatrical skill school we should call Denys Marchuk, Olena Vesnyanko, Zoya Chernega, Maryana Malynovska, Igor Shepelyak, Ivan Kozlovskiy. Today, the best university students play at the theater - excellent students, the university student council members, science competitions and contests winners - Maryana Basista, Alexander Patara, Yana Panasyuk, Sergiy Zubriychuk, Vita Grebenyuk, Gennadiy Plaksyuk, Sergiy Semenko, Maksym Kylymystyi and others. Playing in the student theater is a big honour and aesthetic delight, because all conditions for each self-development and self-actualization are here.

Its ten-year anniversary the Theatre celebrated by new I. Karpenko-Karyi “Beztalanna” staging in the municipal House of Culture crowded hall. The play received all spectators rave reviews and the actors were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts by the University direction. The theatre stage-director was also awarded Cherkassy regional Presidium of Ukrainian Education and Science Trade Union Committee workers honours.

So we wish the theater staff will continue to give its fans joy and pleasure from acting, new interesting staging and grateful audience!
