The meeting - the Solemn Academy - to commemorate the achievements of scientists was started in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. Lecturers who had made efforts in teaching staff's training, the international scientific and educational cooperation providing, creating of the university image were honored at Solemn Academy.

Several years ago, the Academic Council initiated the highest award - the title of "Honorary Professor of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University". This time, the title of Honorary Professor of the University was conferred to an outstanding Ukrainian linguist, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of Linguistics of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Professor Vitaliy Zhayvoronok that has been working in USPU for almost 20 years. Rector Nataliya Pobirchenko congratulated the eminent scientist, invested him with a diploma and a mantle of Honorary Professor, and noted his significant contribution in promoting prestige of the university and the academic training. Vitaliy Zhayvoronok thanked for appreciating his work and presented dictionaries and scientific manuals in his authorship to the university library.
The University appreciates the people who have dedicated their whole lives to scientific activity. Head of Ukrainian literature and Ukrainology Chair professor Nataliya Syvachuk was awarded the Medal of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine "Ushynsky K.D." for significant achievements in Pedagogics, personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian education.
Undoubtedly, the highest value of the university is its educators, wise and talented professionals who invest all their life in teachers' training. Assistant Professor Mariya Kyrylyuk, who led Philological Department of the University and has been working in educational field for many years is among them.
Every year scientific and pedagogical potential of the university rises. Recently, young scientists Olena Skrypnyk and Oksana Semenchuk joined to the scholars' cohort.
Teams of authors - the winners of the contest for best textbook - were distinguished. Nadiya Brit, Oksana Goloborodko, Anna Grabova, Nataliya Gut, Oksana Zabolotna, Anna Ivanchuk, Svitlana Shumayeva, Iryna Shcherban, Valentyna Koval, Kateryna Koval, Olena Baldynyuk, Iryna Demchenko, Svitlana Royenko were noted at the meeting of Solemn Academy.
Scientists also received awards for training the winners of International and All-Ukrainian students' research works contests, students' competitions and other rating contests.
