Students and lecturers of Social Education and Applied Psychology Department actively and energetically celebrated the Psychologist's Day.

In the holiday week program were:

  • Lectures of the university practical psychologist M. Mishchenko on the theme "The Future Expert's Emotional Culture" and "Typical Problems in the Practical Psychologist's Work";
  • Training of non-verbal communication on the theme "Sign Language" performed by first year student Sergiy Voytenko;
  • Action "Learn More About Psychologist." Little holiday with colored balloons and philosophical definitions about psychologist vocation. The idea the action was to present as many students as possible balloons with colored tape, which contained information about psychologists and their purpose in human life.
  • Within the frameworks of all-Ukrainian charity event "Heart to Heart" USPU students held a number of actions and activities aimed at raising funds for the purchase of insulin pumps to children with diabetes.
  • Under psycho-social service guidance a charity fair took place in USPU new building lobby. The participants prepared homemade jewelry, paintings, beadwork, baked pies and cakes, and then put it all on sale. The fair was attended by students of different Uman educational establishments.

We could see interesting painted characters in "anime" style in city streets. As part of the action "Heart to Heart", the "anime" and animated characters photo walk was organized, where everyone could express his/her imagination, the photographers could improve their skills, and participants got a lot of positive emotions and good creative photos. In addition, drawing attention to themselves, the group of creative young people had the opportunity to collect a small amount of money to help sick children.

In the Teacher's College hall a solo concert of rock group "Move in return!" was held. In addition to good rock and driving rock'n'roll which young talented performers gave the audience, the boys donated money to USPU volunteers for sick children treatment. Also at the concert were present the Member of Regional Council, Honored Worker of Ukrainian Agriculture, Andriy Krohmal, and the City Council Secretary Arkadiy Rybak, who made generous donations for the purchase of insulin pumps to sick children.

Students of the 21st Group conducted gender research of differences in men and women perceptions of two-dimensional information and the 3-D object construction. 70 USPU students, including 35 women and 35 men respectively were the research participants. The research showed that 74% of men had coped with the test objectives and 26% made mistakes in its implement. Women showed somewhat lower figures - 52% successfully had passed the test, 47% - performed their tasks with errors and 1% had not gave the correct answer. The research results showed that the ability to build 3-D object in imagination in men's case was much higher than in women's. Therefore we could assume that test results confirmed the researchers' delivered hypothesis.

Excellent mood was created by students of the 24th Group which were giving everybody funny "smiles" with different emotions.

The program was completed by the holiday concert prepared by the Department students for all Uman psychologists. It was crucial moment in finalizing the competitions results, which were announced to the students at the beginning of the school year.
