The Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Development, Volodymyr Mykolaiko, and the Head of the International Relations Department, Kateryna Ilnitska, took part in a meeting dedicated to establishing international cooperation between the Cherkasy region and administrative-territorial units of foreign countries. The event was chaired by Roman Karmannik, Director of the Department of Regional Development of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.

The main focus of the meeting was on clear communication strategies and expanding partnerships with international partners. Representatives of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration reported that they are actively working on establishing connections with regions in the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, and Italy. The results of this work were presented during the meeting of the Regional Office for International Cooperation of the Cherkasy region.

Vice-Rector Volodymyr Mykolaiko noted that international activities in the field of education and science are a key component of Uman State Pedagogical University’s development strategy for 2021-2025 and encompass all of its structural divisions. These activities are aimed at improving the quality of education, scientific research, and enhancing the university’s international recognition. As of June 2024, the university has 71 cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions, organizations, and associations. Educational institutions and organizations in the United States have been reliable partners of the university for many years. Within the framework of this long-term cooperation, academic staff have the opportunity to undertake internships, participate in joint educational and research projects, and organize collaborative events. The 2023/2024 academic year has been no exception.

Uman State Pedagogical University's participation in such events contributes to strengthening international ties and expanding the university's opportunities for implementing joint educational and research projects with foreign partners.
