THE FIRST STAGE OF POLISH-UKRAINIAN YOUTH EXCHANGE IS FINISHED

It has already become a tradition the participation of USPU students together with pupils of Uman schools in "Polish-Ukrainian Youth Exchange", which is conducted the fourth year running between Uman (Ukraine) and Gniezno (Poland) in assistance with Warsaw National Center of Culture. During the period from September 27 to October 7, the first stage of the project, when the Ukrainian participants were in the first capital of Poland – Gniezno finished. The programme of visit was informative and very interesting, because in addition to classes in school № 3 named after St. Wojciech in Gniezno. The participants had the opportunity to see Gniezno and its localities, learning the history and culture of Poland.

The project participants visited the residence of the Archbishops of Gniezno, where they had the opportunity to communicate with the Archbishop Kovalchyk. The meeting ended with a joint prayer in Ukrainian.

During the stay in Poland Uman citizens together with Polish programme participants had been working, mutually studied languages, organized cultural activities, thus overcoming their own problems and weaknesses.

Taking into consideration that 2012 declared in Poland as a Year of Yanush Korchak, Polish and Ukrainian participants presented the play "King Matiush I" in Polish. In addition, Polish viewers were proposed to view a short concert program associated with the traditions of Ukraine and Uman. The celebration was attended by Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Poznan - Vitold Gorovskyi.

But the project is not completed, as soon as on October 16, the second stage of "Polish-Ukrainian Youth Exchange" starts. Uman will meet the Polish guests and program of their stay in Ukraine promises to be exciting.
