The Ukrainian Philology Department in cooperation with the Interdepartmental Research Center for Applied Linguistics and Vinnytsia Humanitarian Pedagogical College have conducted the traditional (sixth) meeting of the scientific and methodological seminar "Theory and practice of preparation for the independent testing in the Ukrainian language and literature".

The seminar was attended by the USPU lecturers, experts on preparation for independent testing from Uman district and city Education Departments of Cherkasy region, Uman teachers, Monastyrysche and Uman Cherkasy region, lecturers of Vinnytsia Humanitarian Pedagogical College, Uman Humanitarian Pedagogical College named after Taras Shevchenko and Tulchyn College of Culture.

Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Ukrainian Philology Department Valentyna Koval greeted the participants.

Assistant of USPU Rector, Ph.D., Associate Professor Svitlana Tsymbal-Slatvinska spoke about innovations of the admission process and outlined the rights and obligations of the independent testing participants.

The following issues that can be represented in the certification works in the Ukrainian language and literature had been examined: tasks on lexical, syntax, and punctuation rules of modern Ukrainian literary language and features of lyrical texts.

All participants took active part in the discussion of the possibilities of using the latest scientific and methodological developments in teaching Ukrainian language and literature in college and high school.
