Special edition of nationwide social and political weekly paper "Osvita" (№ 36 from August, 15 - 22) under the heading "University towards research status" is entirely dedicated to the scientific achievements of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. The actual examples and facts confirm that university scientists have chosen science as a major point in the university activity: they perform unique researches, develop areas classified as "first", draw new concepts and phenomena to the scientific field. New research centers and laboratories were created, here a future teacher can study the specificity of Ukrainian village creativity, and, formed in the atmosphere of scientific inquiry, get incomparable potential.

Volumetric article "Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography" (page 1-2) of Rector, doctor of sciences (Pedagogics), professor, corresponding member of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences Nataliya Pobirchenko is at the beginning of the issue. Nataliya S. Pobirchenko is the head the Research Center of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography of double submission - NAPS and MES youth and sports of Ukraine. Center was created in 2006 to promote basic and applied research on Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography problems, coordination of scientists' research activity in Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography field with scientific plans and programs of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, creating opportunities for testing and implementation research results to the studying process, attracting talented youth in active research work. The materials of the article outline the main directions of the Centre activity and scientific achievements.



In particular, Center researchers scientifically substantiated the main pedagogical problems of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography: structure, functions, principles and sources; developed periods of education development in the region, network and typology of regional educational establishments and the concept of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography development; identified the conceptual ideas of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography as an effective means of teachers professional training.

The Center developed state budget themes: "Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography in future teachers preparation " and "Integrative Technology of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography Usage In Humanities Disciplines As Part Of Future Teachers Training", the work on the implementation of new themes: "The development of Pedagogic Cherkasy Region Ethnography in Ukraine ( second half of the 19th early 20th century) "and "Development of children's movement in Central Ukraine (the second half of the 19th -20th centuries) " was begun.

"Ethnology of Cherkasy region" and "Who will receive "Gornyatko Eneya" are interesting and informative materials published on the fourth page of the issue. Here we can find the information about one of the most powerful centers of educational and cultural activity in Cherkasy region - research laboratory" Ethnology of Cherkasy region " (Head - Professor Nataliya Syvachuk). The purpose of laboratory scientific work is formation of a teacher's personality on the basis of regional ethnic and cultural traditions and preservation of historical Uman folk memory.

Content of search expedition work covers all sections of folklore (calendar ritual and domestic ritual creativity, heroic epics, ballads, lyrical songs, fairy prose, historical prose, children's folklore) and ethnography (folk crafts and handicrafts, folk housing, clothing, food, folk knowledge, philosophical ideas and beliefs, customs, traditions and rituals). All folklore and ethnographic materials collected in the villages of historical Uman region, constantly replenish funds of "Ethnology of Cherkasy region" laboratory. In recent years, a scientific archive of the Laboratory (20,000 cards) for scholars', students', teachers', and pupils' usage was concluded.







On the next page of the newspaper such articles as "Versatile source of dialect" and "Work with students" draw attention. They revealed the activity of another academic University unit - Eastern Podillya Linguistic Regional Ethnography Scientific Coordination Center (Head - Associate Professor Tetyana Tyshchenko) operating under the aegis of the Institute of Ukrainian Language of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. The main objective of the Centre is to study dialects linguistic features of Eastern Podillya settlements and adjacent lands, functional and stylistic features of homonyms use in the texts, language history, and organization of scientific work of students-philologists.



In 2011 a new periodical edition "Scientific magazine of Eastern Podillya Linguistic Regional Ethnography Scientific Coordination Center" was founded where the results of lecturers' and students' studies are published. Every year the collections of student research articles are published in "Dialectological studies" and "Onomastic studies."

The consulting office for members of the Small Academy of Sciences was created at the Center. The researches of secondary schools pupils of Uman and Eastern Podillya Region under supervision of lecturers Vasyl Denysyuk, Olena Zelinska, Tetyana Tyshchenko, awarded prizes at the regional and national levels.

The material " Word Theatre: the conception of activity" ends special issue of weekly paper "Osvita". The purpose and objectives of the "Theater of Word" are submitted, its contents, scientific methods and staffing are revealed. Proposed topics of scientific and methodical seminars are interesting and diverse. The experience of work with students on pedagogical rhetoric is described.
