On October 18, report and elective conference of student self-government was held where the results of student self-government work in the last academic year and re-elections of the head and student council members were key issues on the agenda. University Rector Prof. Nataliya S. Pobirchenko and people's deputy of Ukraine Anton V. Yatsenko, head of the Department on Family and Youth Matters of Uman City Council Victoriya V. Bordylyeva, vice-rectors, representatives of the departments’ staff and trade union committee, students-delegates from different departments participated in the meeting.

Oleksandr Slobodyanyk highlighted in his annual report, that the student self-government was an integral part of university life, protecting the rights and interests of students, their participation in the management of university, and youth initiatives supporting.

Thanks to coordinated work of the members of the student council, cooperation with the university and its departments administration the significant results were achieved and areas of work that have become traditional were added by new ones. Also thanks to charitable actions of students material and technical basis of educational buildings and living conditions in the dormitories were significantly improved. Student council wasn’t aside in solving other issues, such as participation in the admissions, and according to its results our university has taken a leading position in the country in terms of state order serving.

Meeting also summed up the results of scientific work of students and the editorial board of "StudLIFE" newspaper, positively assessed the measures aimed at increasing University contacts with foreign universities, discussed social protection issues. This information, in particular, was mentioned in the reports of head of University Scientific Society Gennadiy Torbanyuk, head of the Information Sector Victoriya Mykhailyuk, head of the International Relations Sector of Csudent Council Yelyzaveta Zabolotna, deputy head of the trade union committee Liliya Krutchenko.

University rector Nataliya S. Pobirchenko spoke to the participants and stressed on the importance of cooperation between the administration and student council, also thanked the students for concern and activity, and wished further success.

Head of student council and its members and students representatives in the Academic Council of the University were chosen on the meeting.
