On December, 8, 2011 University has Regional competition in Science of Ukraine for students from 8-11 classes of comprehensive school. Themes of scientific researches were determined according to the plan of research work of laboratory "Ethnology of the Cherkassy region". A head of laboratory is a Ph.D. (Pedagogics), professor Natalia P. Syvachuk. Керівник лабораторії — кандидат педагогічних наук, професор Наталія Петрівна Сивачук. Scientific work of the laboratory is carried out by such directions:
- folk-lore of historical Uman district;
- ethnography of historical Uman district;
- family education of Ukrainians of historical Uman district.
The main sources of researches were expeditionary activity of students on territory of the Cherkassy region, especially research of multi-genres folk-lore of Talne, Uman, Khrystynivka, Mankivka districts and other.
A teacher of Ukrainian language, literature and ethnology Romanchenko Nina Ivanivna with the pupils - exemplary children folk-lore collective "Vesnyanka" of Talne "Comprehensive school of I-III degrees № 1 - gymnasium".
Schoolboys and their leaders presented such researches:
- "Winter calendar rite of Ukrainians of Talne"
- "A variety of decorative patterns and colouring in embroidery of Talne district"
- "Folk choreographic culture of Uman district of XX century"
- "Mythological images of lullabies of Uman district and their guard value"
- "Regional features of ceremonies of village Velyka Sebastyanivka"
- "Folk-lore world of village Ladyzhynka: local measuring" and other.
Winners were welcomed by Tkachuk Larisa Vasylyvna, a Ph.D. (Pedagogics), assistant professor, vice-rector of the scientific work of USPU.
Rewards and valuable gifts:
I place is given to Melnyk Ann (pupil of a 10 form of Uman comprehensive school I-III degrees), pupil of folk dance group of Childten House and youth creation Uman for research "Folk choreographic culture of Uman district of XX century". Head - Karaban Natalia Michilivna. And also Umanchyk Viktoriya (student of 11-b class Talne Comprehensive school of I-III degrees № 1 -gнmnasium" for research "Winter rite of Ukrainians of Talne district". A head is a teacher of Ukrainian, literature and science of Ukraine Romanchenko Nina Ivanivna.
II place - Kurbala Yana (pupil of 11-form of Ladizhinka Comprehensive school I-III degrees); Golovko Natalia ( pupil of 10-b form of Talne comprehensive school of I-III degrees № 1 - gymnasium").
III place - Kuzmenko Tetyana (pupil of 11-g form of Uman comprehensive school № 3); Vovchenko Katerina - (pupil of a 9 form of Velika Sebastyanivka educational establishment "Preschool educational establishment - comprehensive school of I-II degrees").
