All-Ukrainian Universiade in boxing took place in Kharkiv. The fourth year student of Physical Education Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Master of Sports of Ukraine Andriy Smyrnov was among the members of the Cherkasy region team.

Among the 14 boxers who participated in the weight category of 64 kg, Andriy took an honorable 3rd place.
