Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, the academic and scientific community of the Republic of Poland has clearly defined its position and readiness to provide assistance, as well as to comprehensively support the Ukrainian people.

In 2022, the National Agency for Academic Exchanges of Poland and the University of Gdańsk held the international conference "Solidarity with Ukraine. Students, scientists, institutions", which turned out to be so successful that later NAWA announced the second program "Focus on Ukraine" - European Universities, within the framework of which Polish higher education institutions belonging to alliances of European universities received a total of almost 16 million zlotys to support cooperation with Ukrainian higher education institutions at the transnational level.

Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Development Volodymyr Mykolaiko, who during April 3-4, 2023 took part in discussions on a common vision for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, developed strategies for the reconstruction of academic centers and highlighted prospects for further development . Within each session, a round of questions and answers took place, which gave an opportunity to share experiences and ideas regarding their successful implementation in the educational sphere in the future.
