Traditionally Uman State Pedagogical University celebrates International Native Language Day, initiated by the UN. This year the University honored not only Ukrainian, Russian, English, Polish, Chinese, but such rare languages ??like Setswana, Shona, Sisuati, Nyemba, which were presented by foreign students from Algerian People's Democratic Republic, the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Namibia.


Foreign students together with Foreign Students’ Department arranged the evening of native language, which was an excellent opportunity to learn the language and culture of European, African nations and China. Each student presented his native language, making a digression into the history of language and reciting poetry.


Cognition of Chinese language was introduced through the tea ceremony comment. Polish students, who had just gotten in our university, also joined the celebration, presenting themselves in three languages ??- Polish, English and Ukrainian. Students of Ukrainian Philology Department charmed the audience by reciting poetry and reading fables. To commemorate that event, students received the dictionaries of Ukrainian language. Friendly atmosphere and games really helped to unite people from three continents!
