On April 26-27 the International Scientific Conference "Interdisciplinarity as the Methodology of Humanities: Language, Education and Culture" took place at the Foreign Languages Department of USPU.

The conference aim was the exchange of teaching experience and ideas on the Ukrainian education system development under the European integration and globalization process conditions.

Considering the magnitude and significance of the conference objectives, its organizers were:

  • Foreign Languages Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University,
  • Regional Centre for Teaching Foreign Languages; Education Institute of NAPS of Ukraine, the Laboratory of Comparative Education and the Laboratory of Teaching Foreign Languages, A. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University, Mykola Gogol Nizhyn State University, the Ukrainian Forum of Educational Leaders, Kennan Institute in Ukraine

The following issues were discussed in the conference:

  • Strategic directions of foreign language education development in a middle and high school;
  • Europe of education and comparative education in their mutual progress;
  • educational reforms and innovations;
  • teaching staff: new teachers competencies;
  • foreign languages in the globalization and modernization of the modern world context; historical and social issues of education and science development.

Conference languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish and English.

The Organizing Committee received 220 participants' applications, abstracts and articles.

150 participants, including 12 doctors, 73 candidates of science, young scientists - 130, members of the Kennan Institute in Ukraine - 4, representatives of the Peace Corps (USA) - 1 registered at the conference.

150 reports and speeches were presented during the plenary and breakout sessions.

Participants' reports at the International Conference were related to:

  • European association of educational studies in European educational space activity;
