On October 3, the university administration, students and special guests participated in the inauguration of the new premises of the Research Laboratory of Pedagogical Competence (110 lecture hall, building № 3). This event is a clear indication that the university creates the best conditions for the organization of the research work of lecturers, students and scientists.

Discharging of this honorable mission - the solemn cutting of a ribbon, and inauguration of the new premises of the laboratory were made by the rector of the university doctor of sciences (Pedagogics), professor, corresponding member of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences Nataliya Pobirchenko and the distinguished guests - Head of Uman City Council Education Department Oksana Gerasymenko and Head of Education Department of Uman District Administration Oksana Suprunets.

Laboratory of pedagogical competence (Laboratory head - Ph.D. (Pedagogics), Associate Professor Olena Yaroshynska) started its operation in 2009 in connection with the increasing interest of the educational community to the problems of future teachers’ professional competence. Laboratory is a unit of Social and Psychological Education Department (Dean - Ph.D. (Pedagogics), Associate Professor Oksana Kravchenko) and aims to involve the lecturers, Ph.D. students, and school teachers to study current problems of the theory and methodology of Pedagogics.

Regional Research and Practical Workshop “Competent pedagogue is a today’s need”, devoted to the professional holiday – the Day of Education Worker took place in the newly inaugurated premises of the Research Laboratory.
