In the frames of All-Ukrainian festival of science during April – May in Uman State Pedagogical University named by P. Tychyny scientific measures of different levels were conducted: meeting of scientific-research laboratories, centers, round tables of scientific theme, research expeditions, exhibitions, public lectures, open lessons and trainings, the presentation of scientific works etc.

19 of May in the city house of culture the scientific community of Uman celebrated The Day of science. Professors’ and teachers’ collective of Uman State Pedagogical University took an active part in organization of this holiday. The best scientific employees of university were awarded by decorations of Ministry of education and science, youth and sport of Ukraine, by honorable letters of regional management of education and science, regional commity of trade unions, head of the city and university.

Representatives of the city power, leaders of higher educational establishments, scientific institutions of the city and creative collectives of our university congratulated participants of the holiday.

Within the framework of the Science Day celebration at the Social and Economic Education Institute a lot of various in content and form events, depended on different categories of participants, were conducted – especially, teachers and students reporting scientific conference, leading scientists speeches with lectures, meetings at round tables, presentations of innovative products , the demonstration of popular science films.

The celebration of Science Day began on May, 12, 2011 by the teachers and students reporting scientific conference of the Social and Economic Education Institute.

Olena V. Dudnyk, Vice-rector (Scientific work), Ph.D. (History), Assistant Professor opened the working of the conference. In her opening speech she greeted the audience with the holiday, turned our attention to the need of the maintenance of the Institute traditions, the popularization of scientific schools activity, the attracting of young scientists, the creation of conditions to scientists aged 35 to 45 years, so that they could find the using of their knowledge at home.

Subjects of lectures at the conference were sufficiently various: pedagogics, psychology, economics, physical training.

48 lecturers of Social and Economic Education Institute, 189 postgraduate students, undergraduates and students participated in the working of the conference and its breakup groups.

During the celebration research workers and students of Social and Economic Education Institute were awarded by diplomas for their success in research work.
