Maria Sladkova, a higher education student of the Faculty of History at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, took part in the international youth project Erasmus+ «Leaders for Action!», which was held in Turkey.

The program of the event was extremely rich and diverse: team-building activities, hands-on leadership development training sessions, quests, museum visits, and cultural events. The participants had the opportunity not only to deepen their knowledge but also to exchange experiences and traditions with representatives of various countries.

«It was nine days of complete immersion in a new atmosphere. I visited three cities in Turkey and discovered its traditions and exceptional hospitality», Maria shares. «You could feel that the organizers had poured their hearts into every detail – the exercises, lectures, and excursions. One of the most memorable moments was our visit to a school in Sivas, where one of the organizers works. We interacted with Turkish teenagers and learned more about the local education system».

A special highlight of the event was the Cultural Night, during which the participants presented the cultural heritage of their countries. Seven delegations showcased authentic elements of their national cultures, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.

«Although the journey was long and exhausting», Maria concludes, «I never once regretted applying for this project. It was a life-changing experience that broadened my worldview».
